Reply to the person by saying “the fear of EFCC is the Beginning of wisdom” that will be the last you’ll hear of the person.

EFCC is Nigerian regulatory body that tackles Fraud within and outside the country.
I think you should go to Google and type in “EFCC Nigeria” its short for Economic and Financial Crimes Commission.
You’ll get to read bout all their reports and advice on e-mails like that.

Good luck.

Not easily. The most important thing to realize is that there are a huge number of e-mail scams run out of Nigeria, known as 419 scams. If you got mail from someone claiming to be from Nigeria (or most other places), you don't know them, and the crux of it is, "I have a ton of money, but I don't have access to it, and if you help me get access to it I'll give you a bunch", it is a scam. If you try to follow up, at some point they'll let you know how they need you to send them money for some sort of processing fee before you can get your riches.

OK I'm guessing this person emailed you to either tell you about a bank account he cant access...and has offered to split the money with you if you help him, or he needs help and is asking you for money. Either way...dont reply. And from now on, dont open the email if you dont recognize the sender. If someone you know needs money from you, I seriously doubt they are going to email you with the request. There's alot of those scams going around right now. And unless you want your private information compromised, mark them as SPAM and move on with your day:)

It's probably the Nigerian bank scam. Don't even think about it unless you have extra money to waste. If that's the case, then hook me up. I'm way closer than Nigeria. New Jersey..

Seriously though, just ignore it and don't do anything that it talks about..

Never answer any email from anyone claiming to be from Nigeria. You will just get annoyed and pestered for money.

If you are investigating a letter that asks you to help them recover funds from that country, it's a scam. They would want to establish a joint account with you, so they can steal YOUR money.

There is nothing free in this world. Don't get ripped off!
