Well, it's a myth that you can't get struck again. There are forest rangers that have been struck by lightning multiple times, and fortunately lived to tell about it.

I think one of the most interesting stories about being struck by lightning is James Otis, a famous person in revolutionary Boston. He predicted he would die by a lightning strike, and sure enough, he did, in 1783.

You can go back to Greek Mythology for the story of thunderbolts (and lightning) being thrown by Zeus. If he used them to strike a person, they must have gotten Zeus quite mad - which is unlucky for them!

Thor and Zeus each threw thunderbolts (lightning) But it was typically fatal.

Not so many about living through a lightning strike.

There are Urban Legends about being struck by lightning (in the shower, thru a window holding a fork, etc).

One true story is that a blind guy recovered some of his sight after being struck.

Actually that's not a myth. People have been struck by lighting. Some have survived but mostly they die by this. But I have hear one strange thing about a survivor. I was told that he could not longer wear a watch (digital or the other kind). It goes berserk when he does.

people actually DO get struck you know. very common on golf courses. and the only myth i've ever heard is that lightning never stricks twice, which isnt true, people have been struck more than once and survived. hell, we have a tree that's been struck at least 4 times that we know of (and we're not taking it down even tho its dead because apparently its a very good lightning rod)
