Is it a GTP Grand Prix? If so you NEED to continue with premium. If it is not a GTP (supercharged) than 87 is fine. You won't notice any difference in the way it runs as long as it is not supercharged.
Hope this helps!

The octane rating has nothing to do with efficiency. The octane rating tells you how much compression the gas can handle. If the owners manual says 87, then 87 will work just fine.
Unlike, what Paul S. says, it was nothing to with engine size or the number of pistons. It only depends on the compression raito.

You really can put either in the car and neither is more efficient. Octane has to do with reducing engine knock in a vehicle. Really, you could use 87 octane until you believe you have some enginer knock and then up the octane level you are purchasing.

Unless you have a high compression engine which I doubt with the 2K Grand Prix, you don't need high octane gas. You're wasting your money otherwise. If it "pings" using the 87 octane, have your timing checked. Also I presume that your cylinders are not badly cargonized which causes the compression to increase and result in pinging.

Ya, 87 octane is less expensive and it will be better in the long run. 93 is the best and your car will run its best on 93 but 87 is the best choice due to the outrageous gas prices.

It all depends on engine size !! Big V-8 with 4bll carb ,higher octane , smaller engine like a 4 or 6 cyl lower octane !! One thing most important ? No car no matter what it is will run proper with out proper engine- motor oil - trany fluid -and right amount of air in the tires & right amount of anti freeze & clean plugs will ever be efficent ???

99% of all cars are designed to run on 87 octane. only ones that are'nt are the high end cars and sports cars with trumped up engines.

there is no benefit to burning a a techniques better grade than than your vehicle is rated for. there is no further potential or mpg.it does not sparkling your engine the two those are all myths. the final element on your engine is to apply the octane score indexed on your proprietors manuel. in case you think of it runs extra desirable then save dropping your money. all those cleaners do no longer something yet disclose you to risky chemical components
