I am trying to simply display an image on a canvas where the image is loaded from a JAR file using the AWT package... NOT swing. All I want is ANY sample code that, when run, will display some sort of image on the canvas or frame or any component of the AWT kit. I can't get this to work for the life of me, and I've spent at least 6 hours trying (literally). This is NOT a Java applet, so any applet code will not help.

the method getResource() is ringing bells with this problem but it's been alot of years. Somehow that method (from System maybe?) is able to get at files in the jar file. Sorry I'm at work or I'd look it up.

I am sorry I do not know anything about that stuff. If it is taking you that long and you can not find any information on line, then I would call a computer service store of ask a friend or other acquaintance who can help you. Maybe you will find someone on here who knows but if you don't, then try that option.
