I am not nearly as certain in your question as to the possibility of its opposite. It appears that self-awareness may be a function of intelligence. Many animals appear to have varying degrees of intelligence, but not necessarily self-awareness. Humans, by contrast, have a much higher order of intelligence and they have self-awareness. The question then is, how much knowledge does a being have to have to become self-aware? This is the question that many in the field of artificial intelligence are seeking to answer.

intelligence is found thought self-awareness in part because intelligence simply means a person is able to use there reasoning skills to understand something rather quickly. If some on is self aware meaning they are conscious of there own feelings, motives and character they can transfer these same understanding to others. But intelligence is not real about knowing your self its about your rationalizing skills.

Yes. If you are aware of your self, you are aware of others and the issues going on around on you as well as the issues that are affecting others. Your own intelligence is a reflection of that and what you choose to explore and what you choose to leave behind.

It's founded in awareness, which must encompass self-awareness, so I think the answer is self-evidently "yes".

Good question.

Well, self-awareness is the very essence of sentience. However, I know alot of REALLY STUPID sentient people. So my answer is no. There is no intelligence inherent in self-awareness.

I've met smart people who weren't very self aware, and not so smart people who were very self aware.

In general though, there seems to often be a connection.

Intelligence and wisdom are two very separate things.

But it might take some wisdom to know the difference.
