I wasn't aware that Alfred Lord Tennyson published any Time/Life books about the Old West.

Lots of things go into the value of an old book. The rarity of it, the condition, original binding, is it a first edition, first printing, etc. If you provide the publication information (publisher etc) it would help. What is the title of the book?

This link will help you search. (Use the advanced search.) Abebooks can provide guidance for generl ranges the books are going for. Tennyson was very popular and many books were printed, so some Tennyson titles from the 1860s aren't worth more than a few dollars, but rare first editions are worth a lot more.

This absolutely depends on the condition of the book and the demand for Tennyson. Best bet is to take it to a reputable antique book dealer (better yet, take it to a couple and see how their estimates stack up) and find out the approximate market value. There is quite a difference between market value and what you might get at auction.
Where did you find it? Or has it been in the family for years and years?
