Report your employers on the grounds of health and safety.
There was a thing on the news today where employees are having to "dress down"
If you're hot how are the folk you are caring for? I bet they are suffering? At least this weather is the exception not the rule.
I sympathise.

This may sound really silly but check this link out at Sharper Image - you can say that you are having neck problems (but it is actually a cooling ring that you put around your neck!) This works SO good, the only problem is that it may look a bit foolish. But hey - it keeps you cool - thus taking care of yourself WHILE you are taking care of others! Good luck - I'm wearing mine! (Our power goes out frequently nowadays - so no AC!)

Really all you can do is drink plenty of cold water, and run your wrists under the cold tap whenever you can. Obviously cotton undies will help. Dont suppose you could put a mini fan in your pocket?

you need to drink plenty of water, if you are finding your uniforms too hot you need to speak to your colleages and see if your employer will let you wear scrubs, i'm a nurse and in this weather its boiling but we were scrubs, they can be washed on high temp therefore reducing infection risk (which is employers concerns) you still look professional but it's a hell of a lot cooler. just ask them!

They cant refuse if what you wear is causing discomfort. All work clothing must be comfortable, they should have summer uniforms , your request is not unreasonable , join a union and consult them.

Or get yourself signed of by the Doctor's claiming stress caused by your Employers hotheadedness....

Get one of thse little clip-on fans and wear it to work on your collar. Then maybe your supervisor will notice you're not just a complainer. If not, you'll get a breeze going on anyway.
