RE:
Are hamsters nocturnal?

Hamsters, which first came from syria, are generally considered to be nocturnal, but like humans, each one is an individual. Also, you may be able (try it as an experiment!) to "readjust" your hamster's internal clock (try it, it doesn't know what time zone it is in!) by artificially darkening the room in which the hamster is in during the day and adding artificial light to it's cage area at night (if it is keeping you awake). It's worth trying.

Yes, hamsters are nocturnal. Hamsters will spend most of the day sleeping or eating. But at night is when they exercise, find food, and nest. Just me on this one. I breed hamsters for a living and at night there hamster wheels are going all night long and are quiet durring the day.

They sure are. That's why my hamsters live in the living room so that while they're going nuts on their wheels all night, I can just close the bedroom door and sleep :)

Never had one, have you?
Of course they are nocturnal.
That's why they use that wheel to go round & round all night!
