As much as I like Grohl... I have to say Nirvana.
Kurt Cobain's music has stood the test of time (Been a LONG time since a Nirvana tune came out) and have achieved the status of being classic.
The Foo Fighters music is good... but I don't think it'll ever come close to touching nerves like Nirvana's music did.

foo fighters nirvana would have been lost any way as cobain was just too strung out on junk and it starts too really show in inuetero nevermind is a classic no doubt but foo fighters have been around long enough to be able to shake off the past

Foo Fighters... Kurt Cobain wrote music and played guitar like a 14 year old who just got his first guitar for Christmas. His lyrics were ok, I guess, but his music sucked.

nirvana is one of the greatest bands ever. foo fighters are mediocre at best.

i have to go with the foo because even though nirvana was catchy it wouldn't be half as popular if Kurt hadn't died and the foo has more difference in their music p.s. she didnt kill him
