Is a Latin American person the same as a Hispanic person? Why? Why not?

No, you can be Hispanic...that is, of Spanich origins...and not be from Latin America. And, you can be Latin American without being Hispanic...many Mexicans are not Hispanic and many Hispanics...especially those from SPAIN...are not Latin American.

I believe you can be from Spain and be Hispanic, but not Latin American.

Yes but not exactly cause some people in latin america are from portugal. They do not speak spanish so they are not hispanic.
