It depends on what your trying to do.
The best for downloading large files is probably a bittorrent program. Either Azureus or utorrent will be the best there.
If you're trolling for smaller files, then Shareaza is a nice, competent gnutella network client.

Download a bit torrent software like Azureus then go to a torrent website liek isohunt. If you got cable you can get 250kp/s or more DL huge files in no time.
