I throw everything in there: pots and pans, the things underneath the burners when I clean the stove. I hate washing dishes, so I put everything in the dishwasher. Am I lazy or efficient?

You are not lazy, I would put the sink in there if I could.

There is a big difference from being lazy and making thinks easier for yourself!

If you look on the web, there is also a great recipe for cooking salmon in the Dishwasher. I know it sounds weird, but think about it, dinner for four, and a load of dishes all done at one time.

That is a new definition for efficiency

Who cares? If I had a dishwasher, I'd... oh, wait, I AM the dishwasher!

Anyway, if I had that appliance, yes, I would. I normally rinse stuff off- There's only 2 of us, and stuff starts to get fuzzy and grow legs if I don't. Scrub what needs scrubbing (like the stove drip-pans), fill the dishwasher to the gills and have fun!!

The only thing I wouldn't put in a dishwasher is wood- wooden spoons, a wooden salad bowl, etc. The heat, especially the steam can cause nasty cracks in the wood.

Get in there what you can and go for it. But there are a few other things to watch out for that weren't mentioned. If you have non-stick pots or pans (and who doesn't these days!!), the dishwasher will ruin them pretty quickly!! Most people don't read their labels, but my husband is compulsive and does and ours all said absolutely DO NOT put in dishwasher. Since these were not the $5 grocery store kind, we handwash them (well, he does -- LOL!!).

i did not for the first 4 months and then i began to positioned them interior the dishwasher on sanitize mode. some people imagine it isn't very sanitary yet i washed my first sons by skill of hand and cleand them and he had thrush 6 circumstances with my second he hasn't had it on an similar time when we've not had any complications. the purely complications I have had is with the darn rings falling down and melting and frequently the nipples fall yet I have a trick.... even as putting them interior the coolest rack positioned the rings on the prongs with the intention to't flow and positioned a bottle interior the rack first then change nipple, bottle, nipple etc. That way there are bottles there as obstacles and no nipples will fall to the bottom, your rings stay in position, and also you do not have that nasty rubber melting scent on your kitchen. wish I helped i have discovered this trick the difficult way after ruining like 20 rings lol

Boy, I'm glad I read the rest of your question! If you did laundry there, too, I would say lazy.

Because I don't wash everything in the dishwasher, does that mean I'm not lazy?

Both. You do not want to put any good cutting knives (especially the ones with wooden handles) in the dishwasher, it will really mees them up. Other than that, throw it in the dishwasher.

Youi'll be using an awful lot of water that way ... depends of course how often you use it .... I normally don't have all that many dishes, so I do it by hand, and only use the dishwasher for when we have guests ... but each to their own ... :)

I say you are taking advantage of Technology, there's nothing wrong with throwing everything in the dishwasher.

I don't have one so I have to wash all of our dishes by hand.

I rinse/wash everything after i use it and then put it in the dw, but i think i'm obsessive-compulsive, so you're probably efficient, unless dirty dish nastiness stacks up in your sink and then you put stuff in the dw, then you're gross
