You feel sad because a piece of your life is gone "far away". You will miss the times that you had when you were living close to eachother, but you need to cherish the times now too. There are many things that you can do. Be pen pals. Everybody like to recieve mail, especially anticipated mail. Talk over the internet, you obviously have a computer or access to one, there are many things that you can do to stay in contact on here. You can send greeting cards, you can video chat, you can live chat.
Set aside a certain day and certain time when the two of you can call eachother, that way it will give the both of you someting to look forward to while you are trying to adjust to your new lifestyle.
You can also send eachother care packages. Send her/him his favorite candy, movie, anything that you know he/she will love. Just to let them know that you are thinking about them.

Everybody that loses a loved one (weather by death or moving) has to deal with grief. It's a hard thing to deal with, but it can be done. Try to focus on other things in your life that make you happy. If the person is still alive (maybe he or she moved to another state), then write them letters and call them up on the phone every few days. Also, try writing how you feel down on paper - it sounds strange, but it will help you to sort your thoughts out. I'm sorry to hear about your loss!

Deoends on how long the person goes away for. My bf left for a week and we just called each other and sent email. If you cannot do that, try to keep busy at work or school! I usually work out a lot!!

When someone very close to you goes away, it is going to feel like you will never get over it. Writing letters and phone conversations will help, even seeing the person occasionaly. Eventually its not going to hurt as bad, just keep yourself busy

Keep busy. Don't allow yourself to sit around and be sad, missing them. Try to stay in contact with them as much as possible too, this will help a lot.

Because you are used to such person, and when something or somebody loved is missing in your life, you feel sad. You should knowreal friendship does not have anything to do with distance or time. I hope you're fine.

U feel sad because u really loved that person in any way. That happened to me once and I haven't seen that person in a long time. I don;t feel anything anymore. I guess time heals wounds.

i had this experience, so in my opinion ... don't think that the dear one has gone far away from you. instead of thinking that, you should remind the sweet moments you shared with that person. i bat, you will feel healthier. And afterall, nobody is gonna remove that memory from your heart. you can make it alive with you forever. so.... be happy my friend!

Just try to keep busy. I try to do things that require a more active mind: read rather than watch TV, or do something that involves your mind and hands. Try origami?
