Goth was fashionable briefly in the 1980's following the punk thing other than that it has never made a massive comeback.

Surely the whole point of goths is that it is anti-fashion. It has never been main-stream fashion, and any serious goth will be bitterly disappointed to find out their look has become mainstream. If anything replaces it, it will have to be something that isn't copied by unimaginative average f*ckwits.

Goth's "fashionable" time was basically when mainstream jumped on the unusual trend bandwagon... not for the first time. The whole point of "goth" is expressing yourself. The whole "wearing black and trying to look moody" thing is totally emo... and is what is coming in right now.
My question is though, are you jumping on bandwagons? The way I see it, you are trying to fit in with the trends, which is fine, if that is what you want to do, but maybe instead of following trends, you should start one?

Emo is the new thing now but I think you shouldn't change for anybody. I think this is because of the music and how it influences us kids. Since no one rarely listen to Marylin Manson type stuff where the bands dress in all black. There is not as many people dressing that way anymore. Maybe if black metal becomes popular it will.

goth is not a fashion trend it is a way of life. People usually dress in darker colors because it expresses the way of life they have chosen. These kids who wear the bondage pants and such are nothing but mall goths and posers. What they wear is a trend but goth is not a trend it is a way of life.

Goth was never fashionable it was about rejection of fashion and mainstream values and will allways be a statement made by those who wear black on the outside because black is how they feel on the inside.

I don't think it was ever fashionable. I don't think that anyone who is truly into it really cares if it is or not. It has been around since the early 80's and I still see it these days.

Goth, you mean... people dressed in black with their faces painted in white?? Yes, it is still fashionable. Now is being mixed with new romantic's look and punk. It's more fashionable. Go to a gothic bar or electro-dark club and you'll see!
