Corporate housing is housing that a company provides for its employees for extended stays away from home.

Example One. You are a company with many satellite offices across the country (or even the world) and you constantly have people from satellite offices at the head office, usually for two weeks at a time. You could put them up at a hotel and pay high nightly rate, or you could provide corporate housing (rent several apartments and let your visiting employees live there during their two-week stints at the head office).

Example Two. Your company works on a project 800 miles away from the home office. The project team is 10 people. The project is expected to last 100 days. You could pay for 10,000 nights at a hotel or provide corporate housing (rent five two-bedroom apartments).

Corporate housing is defined as a furnished residential apartment, house or condominium made available for rent on a temporary basis, primarily for 30 days or more. Corporate housing is typically located within residential communities and includes all furnishings, fully equipped kitchen, a private bath, linens, housewares, electronics and utilities. Professional provider companies manage all the details for a client/guest, usually at one inclusive cost.
