i'm looking for tips on how to orgnize my closet to save space.

First, see what space is available overhead. Find shelving and containers to place above the hanger racks to put hats, purses, and other items you need to store.
Double up with a second lower rack (found at Wal Mart) to hang tops and shorts, skirts tandem on the rack. Then hang long dresses and pants on the other half.
Shoes can be stored on the shoe racks that hang over the door. Modify and hang this on the wall beside the closet door if room allows.
Behind the door, mount your tie rack and use the extra pegs to hang items.
Place off season storage clothes on the floor under the dresses and under bed in sealed roller containers.

buy closet savers and those bags you can stuff a lot of stuff in then suck the air out...
