Start -> Run type "cmd" without the quotes then in the black box that pops up, type "format d:" without the quotes

OR

Right Click My Computer, click Manage. In the box that pops up, click Disk Management on the left. When it shows your disks and partitions, Right click the one you want to format and click format.

Click My Computer on your desktop, right-click drive d. then you will see FORMAT...

But don't do to the drive which you are booting!
