Is there any resorts in greece(decently close to athens) that you can surf at????

well the best place to surf in greece is vassiliki in lefkada... really it cannot be compared to any other place and it is about 5hrs away from athens (lefkada is an island in the ionian sea but you can travel there by car as there is a bridge connecting it to the mainland)
paros and naxos in the cyclades have good surfing spots. For example Santa Maria in Paros is quite good. Paros and Naxos are about 3 to 4 hrs away from athens by speedboat.
There is also Anavissos in south athens which has pretty good winds for surfing but if you are an experienced surfer you will be very very bored as the spot is rather small and it has nothing to do with the winds of the Aegean or the Ionian sea.
If you have time go to lefkada....

I don't know about surfing near Athens, but the island of Karpathos is one of the best places for windsurfing in the world. I'd check there; I know there are regular ferries.

they are also some surfing beaches at Paros and Naxos. they are 2 islands pretty close to Athens. In Paros there the beach "Santa Maria" which is considered surfers Paradise!!! I've been there, they were surfers all over the world
