Duh they come from 2 different animals. Crocodile is more expensive, but in my opinion alligator looks better, it has more detail and when it's dyed the detail and ridges of the skin still show up, where croc tends to loose it's cool look.

it would be a different pattern. I can remember which one is vertical ans which one isn't but thats pretty much the difference. oh and corcodile is more expensive
