Is there a double standard when it comes to leaving someone at the alter?

In Mariah Carey's video for "We Belong Together" she leaves an older Eric Roberts heartbroken at the alter and runs off with her young guy and its romantic. If it had been some popular guy artist who did that in his video (like Usher) would he have upset his woman fans?

Yeah, I think there is kind of a double standard. Society seems to believe that if a woman leaves a man at the altar it is more "understandable" than the man "jilting" the woman. We tend to lean more compassionately toward women than men and believe their intentions are seemingly more sincere.
