I live in an apartment and would like a washer and dryer that doesn't require those huge hook ups, that can possibly drain in the bath tub if need be, or plugged into a regular outlet. This may sound foolish, but i'm a fool dammit.

You can get the stackables, but watch for water discharge connectors and how the dryer vents. If you get the kind on wheels, they can be stored in a closet, wheeled over to the sink where they are connected to the faucet and drain into the sink or tub. You also have to watch the drainage because some of them jump out of the sink if it is not well secured when the washer cycle drains the drum. They do make ventless dryers, as well. Some of the manufacturers use a window or door vent which requires moving the unit to vent it while in use. All of these options do use a regular outlet to operate. Hey get yourself an apartment size washer and dryer. I have one they are both 24" wide and then I purchased from Zellers a stack-able rack and now I am organized. I have regular plug ins, and the little dryer does not need to be vented out side. Just make sure you clean the lint catcher every time you use the dryer. Works like a damn and I have it in a tiny little room off my kitchen because there is no where else to put it. The plumber put the water lines and drain pipe for me. You can get them from most appliance places. Or if you want second hand get a hold of the guy that does the appliance repairs, bet he knows where to get you a set. Good Luck.

Years ago I actually had a portable washer and dryer. The washer hooked up to the kitchen sink. The dryer was 110volt so it took forever to dry, but at least they were small enough for an apartment. I wish I could remember who made them. Look at Lowes and Home Depot web sites
