According to Amnesty International, more than 166 citizens have died after being tasered by the police and in most of the situations, the suspect wasnt threatening to police. Tasers are bing used on citizens for small reasons where as in the days before tasers, police officers would have to negotiate, nowadays its taser the person first then ask questions.

If the cop is so out of shape that 2 or 3 guys can't bring someone down (in my case they might need 10) without excessive force they should be exiled from the country.

I have been trained to fight since I can remember standing. I have always been taught not to do certain things. I have also learned in my experience that it is much less energy to detain and not hurt than it does to hurt. I can effectively control someone almost 100lbs heavier then me and let them go with no more than hurt pride.

Tasers are dangerous for lots of reasons. The best I can see is that what if someone has a heart condition that they don't know about.

The cops are abnormally aggressive. What they really are is mid level managers with no customer service skills. They work for us, not the other way around. These cops need to start showing respect to US citizens. WE DO NOT HAVE TO TAKE THEIR CRAP. WE have the Bill of Rights. They turned it into a money generating machine that wrecks the lives of Americans every day.

Did you know in FL they have found a way around the Supreme Court ruling that says anyone detained must be arraigned in 72 hours or released.

The State of FL made a new hearing, you go to it in lew of an arraignment. They give you a bond and do not allow any lawyers to get really involved. The point of this system is that they are illegally arresting people and keeping them in the system. Why you say?
The Federal Govt subsidizes them for housing prisoners to the tune of $200+ a day.

So, they arrest someone, and they are guaranteed to be in jail at least 12 hours unless they have money. Where they torture people through a combination of sleep deprivation, starvation, and in adequate medical treatment.

Once a person has been locked up 12 hours, they can bill the Feds.

Then they send you to court to get a fine.
And they put you on probation. That is actually a trap. Not only do they get subsides payments for supervision, they charge $45 a visit. There a millions on probation here.
Then, they make everyone do ‘drug treatment’. Another scam. They use this to violate people and extend their stay in the system. The longer they keep them in the more money they get.

I know one facility here in FL got millions for a new medical wing. They were building the first time I toured there. Then I was back a year later to check. When I was put back in the same medical unit the only improvement to the system was the nozzle in the shower which no longer has to be held.

I saw a man that they took of his Dilantin (seizure meds) do the fish and as he spewed blood out of his mouth in a spray, myself and another convict (the term inmate is derogatory) turned the man on his side as the guard stood there. It took 15 minutes for one of the staff members to get there. Another 30 for the EMT’s.

The other thing I noticed is the guards are all way overweight while I myself lost 20lbs in 60 days.

There is also a staff infection unique to the jail that is causing the loss of limbs. They wouldn’t even bring a band aide to a diabetic neuropathy patient. I got put in violent offender max for sticking up for him. I got along fine with real people.

I won’t bother complaining about my unconstitutional treatment, I will survive. I am worried about those other Humans.

I saw a similar situation once right before it popped. They rioted in MT, killed guards, pc’s, child molesters (no loss their), and the feds came in and found the corruption and shut them down.

The feds need to bust FL in the head.

Does Amnesty International also tell us how many police officers have been killed or injured by physical attacks? I'll bet not, because if they did, I'd bet the number is a whole lot higher than the number of people killed by tasers. Police have a split second to decide if the person they are confronting is looking to harm them or not. I'll admit, sometimes that decision may be wrong, but they are not in a position to "wait and see". I would rather see an officer use a taser than a gun if possible anyday. They serve and protect all citizens and should not be asked to not defend themselves appropriately in any given situation because the CRIMINAL might get hurt.

If you get pulled over by the police, hand them your license and registration, and do what you are asked to do, you are not going to be tasered. Wouldn't you rather they use a taser than a gun?

You think just because Amnesty International say's that these people were not threatening the police, that it is a fact?

Amnesty International has an agenda all of their own, anything they say should be taken with a grain of salt.

I would take the Police statements as fact first, they know what happened. The Police have a tough job to do as it is, why do people want to handcuff the police all the time?????

Think about it this way: if you were the criminal would you rather the cop have a gun or a taser in his hand?

i agree that they maybe are being used too frequently, but i'm not a criminal and i don't give the cops any reason to think about using a taser on me, so i'm good.

Negotiate? How about shooting with bullets or beating down a suspect with the nightstick. Tasers save lives in my opinion.
