Because she's a creepy little kid who enjoys scaring the crap-o-la out of Innocent people. Haley Joel Osment's that way too(you know, the 'I see dead people' kid)

it maybe the eyes? but apart from that she is an amazing little actress far beyond her years. to me she sees like an old soul and her abilities when acting are stellar.
ps. when an actor or actress is able to frighten us to the point we no longer like them then they must be really good at their job.
