Yes. Do not make any major purchases before you close on the home. Do not apply for a bunch of credit cards either. I have seen people get preapproved and then go buy a car while they are looking for the home. Now they still have preapproval but for a lower loan amount. He couldn't close on the home he picked.

Very likely. Whatever you do, though, don't make any (large) purchases on credit while you are in escrow with the property you are buying. Your lender may pull your approval, or fail to give final approval due to a change in your credit history.

You better believe it! If you go out and buy a new car or new furniture you can forget getting your loan. Don't do anything that will change your credit rating, and above all, don't switch jobs!

Yes. Right now they are looking at overall info. They never checked your credit. They can't check your credit without your permission.

yes, to make sure your score hasn't dropped, no new tradelines have been opened, etc.

basically, it has to match the info on the orig. credit report they ran on you to "prequalify"
