Embryos are not destroyed for the purpose of research rather destroyed embryos can be used for research. Is it hypocritical for those that are anti-abortion to take a different point of view of a present situation (legal abortion) and allow human life to benefit from it.

Again, based on the understanding that embryos are NOT destroyed for the purpose of research..is it wrong to support something that can save other lives. The research is after the fact (abortion beit spontaneous or voluntary)

President Bush is against spending government money for embryonic research. I am against spending government money for embryonic research also. Private stem cell research may go on as does research in every other aspect of scientific discovery. Why should taxpayers have to fund this particular project? Private industry will take care of it just as it has with thousands of other medical issues.
Furthermore, why embryonic? Haven't adult stem cells proven to be as effective in this research? Why do we have to pursue the gruesomeness of taking cells from a discarded fertilized human embryo?

Well let me just say that the only success they have had out of embryonic stem cell research has been big massive tumor growths.
