i got one done and it is still swollen is it ok

i got it done sunday and it is still swollen. the guy who did it wasn't the friendliest person i ever met he didn't tell me anything. how long before i can take it out and change it?

Swelling, pain, some redness, discharge(as long as it is not green),
The swelling will last for a couple days as will the pain. Your piercer should have given you instructions for keeping the swelling down such as sucking on ice cubes or popsicles.About every 30-45 minutes pop a piece of ice in your mouth.
It will really help with the pain and swelling.

I had my tongue pierced for 2 years about 5 years ago, if i can still remember it is a little sore, and it stays swollen for maybe a day or two. Make sure you gargle with the rinse and Listerine to avoid any infection, and make sure you follow their directions to the tee. If you have to call the people that did it and explain to them what is going on.. You may want to put some ice in your mouth to help with the swelling.

You will have to eat liquid or soft foods for at least 3-4 days. Your tongue will bleed, specially if you don't eat soft foods, and it wil be very swollen. It will stay swollen for about 3 days or so, therefore you will talk funny, but don't worry all this will go away, I've had mine for 5 years, and no problems at all. Good luck:)

always remember to rinse ur mouth out with listerine once to twice a day to keep bactiria building up in ur peircing. your peircing will be swollen for ahwile, i mean u poked a hole in it and stuck somethin forgien in it. wouldnt u swell up to? lol its just a natural reaction your body has, it will go away in a few days. just make sure you take care of it or it will get infected. good luck!

The piercer would know. Unless you were stupid and had a friend do it. Why do people do that? Anyway, nobody on here can tell you if it's normal unless you tell them how long you've had it done.

How long ago was it done? Usually it takes about a week to be back to normal. You should be fine.

Speech problems, possible infections, pain in the tounge. Funny looks from others.

I believe the reactions are:
swollen tongue
headache
dizzyness
My cousin had it and those were her symptoms.
