The child who was not there shouldn't get the same share.

Is he contesting the will, or did the parent leave the same amounts to both children in question? If it's the latter, you've got nothing - it's what the parent wanted, and you should respect that even if it makes you angry. My grandfather's kids all did.

It sounds like you're upset because this child feels he deserves something by virtue of being the parent's child. Are you really that morally superior to him, thinking you deserve more because you did the right thing? Is it his fault you didn't work out something with the aged parent to where you'd get remuneration for any expenses you incurred whilst taking care of him?

The child in question is selfish and does not deserve the inheritance due to his self determined separation from the parents. The court should see that logic.

Thats like the story in the bible with the two sons, the father split his fortune between his two sons, and one stayed with him whilst the other went away to waste away his money on luxuries, when he ran out of money none of his friends wanted him anymore and he had no one to turn to but his father. his father accpeted him with open arms and threw him a feast. It depends on the parent, if they wish to leave the child something in the will then they should do it, but if they leave everything to the child who stayed wiht them the other one has no right to do anything because it was their fault that their parent chose to ignore them in the will
