Why would this be when I paid for it & am making the payments with my own hard earned money. Why is it their business? The "talk" is that I buy a newer car every few years. I had the car prior to this one for 5 yrs. It was getting up there in mileage so wanted to trade before major problems & while I could still get a decent trade-in value for it. Not that I really have to justify it!?

Good for you. Cars can be a pain in the *** and I would trust a newer used car over a new car only because any problems out of the factory have probably been encountered and fixed. When you start driving around a car that has never really been driven all sorts of quirks and issues can can come up and while there is a warranty its an inconvenience. Used cars have those probs fixed. screw anyone else I only buy used cars and have never had a prob!

your family are looking at the fact that you will never really own a car at the rate you are going. and that is ok too like you said if you dont mind having a car note for the reat of your life for the sake of having a functioning car i say more power to you. just keep doing what you are doing trade it in every few years for a newer model and not let it get to a point where you cant trade it in at all...

If your family is just getting by, then you shouldn't have splurged on a newer used car. If they are fine, then it's ok.
