I am starting a new job in an office. I have no idea what the policy is for wearing pumps, slacks and hosiery? Should I wear trouser socks? Knee high? bare feet? I have no idea. (I really dont want to wear full out stockings/pantyhose) Please help!!!

With pumps you have to wear nylon hosiery. anything else like trouser sox is bad with pumps. I can see not wearing pantyhose, I don't wear them myself, because they are too constricting, and I refuse to wear two pairs of panties around. I have a nice collection of my own, so I always wear thigh length stockings. They are really quite comfortable compared to pantyhose. Ir for some reason that is objectionable, wear knee high stockings. Do not wear ankle high stockings! They always seem to show when you cross your legs. I am an office supervisor, and I have been ask to inform girls who do that to please wear appropriate hosiery.

I really find thigh length stockings the best solution, but knee highs are OK , if you don't mind the marks on your legs when you change into something shorter when you get home.

Honestly your job should give you a dress code. For the first day I would dress business, this includes closed toed heels, panty hoes or thigh highs if wearing a skirt and if wearing pants then trouser socks or knee highs. Also no tank tops and wear a nice blouse. Then after your first day dress similar to others in the office but it is better to be overdressed your first day then under. It gives a better impression.

Usually a job gives you a dress code. you should dress for success. No loud colors. A blouse that buttons up with a collar, fits you nicely show off your curve just a little. with black or dark blue material pance fitting only a tad loose, but comfortable. Shoes should be black or brown, with no heal showing no part of the foot.Wear a belt with shirt tucked.Hair in a professional manner. No over sized jewelry. Body peircing and tattoos covered.finally a attitude of confidence and controll.(goes for male or female)look professional

Your new employer should provide you with a dress code. Most modern businesses are "business casual." Khaki slacks and a polo with whatever shoes you want.
