Just make something SMART.
Not stuffy just smart.
Don't settle for cheap jokes.
Make something with depth.

A documentary would be a good starting point. Interview an older person you know who has led an interesting colorful life. For this, shoot a lot of footage and edit it down to 30-80 minutes. Show what their life is like now. And using old film/video footage and photographs, show what their life was like in the past. You could shoot this cheaply on digital home video.

We could use a really scary ghost movie, one that scares the hell out of you.
Like a ghost that directs people to do crimes, kill people, try to take over government, etc.
