When there are like 200 questions. And you have to check the appropriate box - feel strongly about it, not strongly, strongly against.... i cant remember the exact phrasing. But some questions almost repeat each other... Really what do people who look check the answers look for? How do these tests work?

The problem is....how many people, when answering, are truly HONEST about "who" they are and "which" personality trait they're willing to tell about?

And questionnaires abound on the internet, on dating sites, IQ test areas, even on magazine sites where you are answering a "short survey" to enter contests! I answered one just the other day....asking me all sorts of questions about an issue I'd just gotten in the mail.... One of the questions was "Which publication is your favorite decorating magazine?" Okay, I'd been answering to get to the end for entry to win a car.....and I had THEIR magazine in my lap (just came in the mail that day)....which one do you think I put down as my favorite??!??

So you see what I mean about "honesty"? Although many people will be honest with themselves while taking it....most choose "middle of the road" on answers that if answered might make them look either obsessive (most strongly) or not caring (not strongly at all), depending on the tough question at that moment.

I've recently put myself on a dating site (don't ask!)...and have put off taking a "personality" test to see "who" I'm better suited towards. Hmm...well, I wouldn't be on there if I didn't have trouble finding someone where I live (Savannah) that suits me to a tee. But to take one, and truly answer everything from the heart and mind with the truth? No guy reading the results would want to come NEAR me!! (just kidding, but you HAVE to wonder, don't you??)

So do I answer, for once...as completely honest as I can, and hope that some man loves my OC nature (when it comes to organization of my kitchen cabinets and desktop-it ends there, house is comfortably cluttered), who embraces my rather off the wall sense of humor and laughs when I do (I sometimes laugh ALL alone at things most don't find amusing), who is willing to grab hold of my shirttails and follow me as I eagerly explore this world of ours (always going here and there, too much to sit at home and miss it all)....or tweak a few and sound like someone they'd enjoy meeting who wouldn't scare them away on a first date??

Best to be honest, be WHO I am (and who YOU are)...who cares, if they can't accept you for YOU, then what's the point of being YOU?

The number of questions and repetitive questions worded differently make it impossible or very difficult to "fool" the test. The questions repeat because most people are not going to remember what they put for the last answer if it was not true. Therefore, the answers are able to provide a clearer picture about one's overall personality type. More specifically, there are certain personality types that are good for certain types of jobs and situations and not so strong in others. For example, a person whose tests showed they don't have a problem with "small theft" in the workplace would not be ideal in an environment where they have to be trusted with money or company property.

i think each question has answers that relate to the result characterists. The test results are then the characterists whose corresponding answers you picked the most.

more importantly, i like your icon thing.. that's why i clicked here.
