My mom won't.....?

Question

My mome won't let me do anything I I have never dyed it and I want to go punk but she is not willing to support it. She is always like it sounds like they are expensive and i am not going to let you wear all black. I try to explain to her thats not waht being punkis about but she won't listen. She never understands me. This si something I really want and she won't take me anywhere besides tjmaxx. I have been going there for school clothes everyyear and I only get new clothes once a year. She won't let do anything. She always takeaway my maekup if I wear too much mascara! I also think its not fair that she can take away stuff that i bought with money i earned through hard work.

I am not trying to fit in with agroup, but the exact oppisite, and she takes away my mascara or other stuff. She just won't let me do anythign fun. Thats' s all

If I even try to comprimise or see why she won't let me do soemthing she just says i don't have to explain myself because i said no and she never wants to talk just tells me to go away when I try to talk to her about anything. ANd if I ever get the chance you never tries to comprimisng with me

Compromise is the way to go. Your mom is concerned you'll start hanging with a bad group of people and your grades will go down and things will go downhill from there.
Ask your mom if she will compromise with you. Ask her if she can give you the amount of money she'd normally spend on your school clothes and let you go shopping with the ground rules that 1) you won't buy anything you can't wear to school: such as too short skirts or immodest clothing, 2) you'll buy a few things that won't be black, 3) one outfit will be something you can wear around grandma without embarassing mom.
In the future keep in mind the best way to compromise with your mom is to keep up good grades, let her meet your friends, and tell her what is going on in your life. When she realizes it is all about the look and that you aren't going to start using drugs and all that she will be more likely to let you do other things. Also, always be in slightly before your curfew. If you do that, she'll be more willing to extend it.

The question is why?? Why do you want to "go punk"?? Is it because you want to fit in with a group? Why are you wearing so much makeup? Are you aware that wearing too much makeup makes you look younger than you really are? Less is more. Look at older girls, they just wear enough makeup. I only got new clothes once a year too, and I didn't whine about it. Your parents job is to feed you, clothe you, and put a roof over your head. Stop whining!!! Think about those poor kids who don't even get new clothes once a year, or who have never had new clothes. Be happy your mom takes you to TJMAXX - you get more bang for your buck!! You can get twice as many new clothes as all those poor unfortunate souls who shop at the expensive stores. When I was in highschool, I was given $100/year to buy new clothes with. I would come home with 2 or 3 bags full of clothes and my brother would only come home with 2 pair of jeans. If you are upset that your mom takes stuff away that you buy with your own money, stop buying stuff your mother doesn't approve of. I know its an extreme example, but if you bought drugs or cigarettes with your own money your mom would take those away too, right?

Be happy you have a mom who is doing what she thinks is best for you, that shows she cares about you, whether you agree w/her opinion or not.

Be happy your mom buys you clothes, whether its what you want to wear or not.

Maybe your mom doesn't let you do anything you want because you are acting like a spoiled whiny baby.

Calm down. To get her to let you wear what you want and have more responsiblity then you will have to tell her that straight out and tell her why as well. Also, suggest going to other stores; target is a good start then move up to hot topic and stuf. Then slowly; if she says yes, ease into wearing more of what you want. Dont do it all at once. But if she says no, ask her why. But DONT throw a hissy fit; then she will NEVER reconsider and change her mind! Believe me; I had the same problem a few years ago. It took a few tries before I got my way.

I dont know if you do raise your voice but if u do try talking to her in a friendly voice, if u already do u can always try making your own punk clothes, even if she doesnt notice, like if you go to tjmaxx you can buy a studded belt and say its fashion or something like that and cool screen tees, Its not really lying, i think.

I don't really know what your going though. My mom supports everything I do. But, If you really really want her to be able to get what your saying. Take her to your room, sit her down on your bed and have a long talk. Try to let her know that is who you are. Talk to her more often. She'll start to understand eventually.

Moms like their daughters to get best in life...things that seem best to the Moms (not necessarily to the daughters) and in the process they start dictating terms of the game while forgetting that once upon a time they themselves fought with their moms to be free. Still Moms are the best friends you've got...just make them realize that you respect their concern but love your freedom. Whenever she disagrees say I LOVE YOU MOM and wait for what happens next.

u can talk to her and wait n see for the reaction...... maybe she will change....... if she was anything like my mother ..... after a while i had to do thing on my own..... of course i didnt work but i got what i wanted threw doing thing i shouldn't of...... but tell her would she rather let u do thing and buy u'r own thing wiht u'r own money or would she rather know that u r a thief?..... she how she takes that......
