she's definitely jealous... always being negative about things is not a good kind of friend. it's great that u recognize and want to help her "fix" it.. however most people don't change unless they want to, and try really hard to! i agree, u can try and tell her what she is doing is damaging to ur friendship, and that u want her to be more positive person. if she doesn't agree, then u might have to let the friendship go (don't be too close anyways). u can work on your own positivity and happiness, but u can't *force* that on other people..sometimes they choose to be negative/upset!!! why? doesn't make sense huh? =T..... try and help her, but after that, make sure nothing brings u down. if ur bf gave u a ring and she says "oh it's just silver", Don't get angry and say "at least he gave me one!!" (which is my 1st instinct..haha) but maybe you can say "Well it's ok, even if he made it out of flowers i still love anything he gives me"...something to highlight the positive. what can she say? if she thinks ur stupid, then SHE is bad person..not you.

Misery loves company. It sounds like your friend is not happy with her life so she can't stand it when someone else is happy. She could probably use a good friend to help guide her but if you can't keep her from tearing you down and making you feel bad then you can't help her. For the people I know who are like that I would say things like. I know that for you it is only a silver ring but for me it is a token of his affection and I for one am I happy. I hope you are happy for me as well. Remember to have a good friend you have to be a good friend that includes understanding when your friend is sad and hurt sometimes but also sharing in their joy. They are both equally as important because life has a way of balancing the happy with the sad.

She is jealous of you and may not realize how negative she is being. I suggest you let her know how what she says hurts your feelings, she sounds unhappy.
Let her know you will be there for her but won't take her negativity any longer. Maybe get her some counseling.
Good luck.

No and Yes those friends should not be in your life. They are rude and inconsiderate of your feelings. However, based on her factors she may not be doing it to you on purpose. Have a talk with her and assert your needs. She is jealous of what you and your boyfriend have. Based of her factors she may be depressed and angry just because of her social and personal life is going.

Yeah, it sounds like she is feeling envious, or trying to tear you down to make herself feel better.
Yes, if she does it again say something. Maybe her behavior will improve.
If she doesn't improve, Maybe it is time to let her go as a friend.

It sound like she is jealous of your relationship and if all she has to say is negative **** you need to talk to her about how important he is to you and also if you are telling you about all the bad things that are going on in your relationship and now things are better she always going to have something negative to say so you really need to talk to her and if that doenst work your going to have to chose.....

Friends compete naturally, especially girls. Tell her you need support from her and are tired of her not so nice attitude.
