I would get some legal counseling, if you've been there for 5 years you have rights. Find out what the laws in your state are and how long you can stay there. In the meantime, try to clean up your credit, call your creditors and try to make payment plan that you can live with. They would rather you do that than go bankrupt, something is better than nothing.

Last of all, get your life together so you never have to depend on anyone else again.

I would suggest going through an apt complex that offers an equal housing opportunity. Generally they will look at all matters surrounding your need, plus if you go in and talk to the resident manager, generally they can find a way to help you. If you have had your credit checked too many times, that can make your credit look bad as well. Also, look into maybe renting from an individual over a realtor, or a complex. Usually if an individual is renting their own, personal, property, they may not run a credit check, plus again you can tell them your situation. If you still have no luck, then I would go to your counties housing authority and apply there.

ALSO....FYI, if you are on the current lease where you are living, your boyfriend CANNOT legally kick you out. Do NOT move out if you are on the lease, if you are BOTH on the lease, then go to your apt mgr, and find out f you can move into your own apt and be removed from your current lease, or transfer your lease to an individual instead of joint.

Good Luck!

1.) Are you on the lease?
If you are then that would have you some credit on it....You will have to be removed from the lease.
If you aren't then he would have to have the aparment legally evict you because the law states that if you have so much as a toothbrush on the property you are a resident and the only way to get you out is by court ordered eviction.

2.) Try checking around for charities in your area that help people with bad credit get homes. HUD is a good one. Housing for Urban Development.

3.) Check with other ways to obtain an apartment via rent.com....They have roomate situations on there all the time and you can check them out.

GOOD LUCK!

Right now, you should really turn to FAMILY, they are usually the only ones that love you unconditionally no matter what. If it were me, I would talk to a relative about staying with them giving them rent money, food, etc. Try to get back on your feet espically your credit, so you can then move out on your own and be confident about yourself.. Family are usually the best ones to have around when something bad is happening in your life. Remember it gets bad before it gets better.. You will be just fine. Focus on yourself...

I had to really shop when that happened to me. Finally found apartment closeby a university. They rented to foreign students, mainly Hindu Indians. So, like in the old days, I just signed a contract, paid a deposit and was in. Made friends with some of the India people. Such is life.

Try for an income based apt. They are decent and go by your income so you shouldn't have to pay that much. Other than that, see if there are any friends who wouldn't mind a roommate until you get back on your feet.
