I am looking for really obscure songs, ones that are good, but most people don't know them. Ones by relatively unknown bands would be really great.

Oh man! Do I have the bands for you! Try these bands on for size! Gogol Bordello-gypsy punk, hilarious Johnathin Richman and the modern lovers-sings songs about how his dodge vegimatic vegitates, hilarious. Nick Cave and the bad seeds-Not as obscure, plus a lot creeper than the ones above. With Nick, its either a song about love or a song about death(or both). And Jill Sobule-if you like chick singers, she's the obscure girl for you. She did however, have a hit in the Nineties, "I kissed a girl", so be careful on obscure level. Most people will have heard of zero of these bands, and they're all great! By the way, I told that emma chick who Jill Sobule was, so shes still obscure.

Have you heard of Metric? They were obscure to me, but I think they are a Canadian group, so you may have heard more about them. I really like "Torture Me" and "Soft Rock Star."
Another good group that most people my age (18) don't know is Steeleye Span. They've got some AWESOME music if you like folk songs with some more interesting beats. Try their chart-topper from the 70s or whenever, "All Around My Hat." I also like "The Blacksmith" and "Then Female Drummer" a lot. They also have some newer stuff which I like less...but go ahead and see what you think.

this song is not by an obscure band, but most people have never heard of it. it's called 'darkness' and it's by the police, the greatest band of the 80s. the song was the last on the album, and was never released as a single. it's a GREAT song, but somehow no one seems to know it, even police/sting fans.

you did not say what genre you were looking for, so here is a few that I like across the board: Classic Rock- Snoopy versus the Red Baron parts 1&2 by The Royal Guardsmen, Undercover Angel by Allen O'Day, Heartbreaker by Nantucket. Magnet And Steel by Walter Egan, Country: The Battle of 1814 by Johnny Horton, Comedy: King Tut by Steve Martin

till at present Moby Grape's "20 Granite Creek" album changed into Out Of Print because the mid ninety's. I paid $one hundred for my replica, so even looking ANY songs off that album on Youtube changed into no longer plausible. thankfully a reissue only got here out this year so now it must be stumbled on for $20. So with my well-known team it changed into an finished album!
