All religions preach hate - towards other ethnicities, women, or social classes

Nationalism preaches hate - if you're against the war in Iraq, you are "un-American" or "unpatriotic" - don't forget Nazism (the National Socialist Party) was nationalism

Just to clarify - I'm not saying nationalism is a religion, I'm saying that the two dominant beleif systems, nationalism and religion, both preach hate

I don't know what religions you are speaking of, I am an anglican, and we do not practice hate in our church, nor do we preach of hate, nor do we condone hate of anyone or thing.

There is no hate for race or ethnicity, women or social class in my church as far as I know and I resent the fact that you would say that all religion preaches hate. This is an absolute myth.

I think your confusing religion with politics. Nationalism is not a religion.

And all the religions I know of (including the Islam) preach tolerance for your fellow man and peace. Its the radical extremist who pervert the religion to suit theor own wants that cause all the strife.

For every action, there is an opposite and equal reaction. Maybe it's the same where philosophy is concerned. You should try reading Mark Twain's short story (published only after his death), "The War Prayer." It points out the unspoken requests that are necessitated by what people actually ask for. http://blog.360.yahoo.com/blog/post.html?p=59

I did not know that nationalism was a religion??? I'm confused??? and Naziism? a religion? um...I don;t think so. Hitler was Catholic. I don't know where his demented mind got that it would be in his best interest to exterminate the Jewish community, but him being a Nazi and catholic has none to do with the other...I don't think. I am not a Nazi, but I am Catholic...

Jesus preached love. It's only some followers of the faith who pervert His message.

nice, they twisted up your question so that it wouldnt trample their cherrished religions. yes people, religions are bad. not really because so many believe so strongly in total myth & fantasy but because all religious insist on incorperating me in it. its the nature if religion, even instructs to convert the non believers. i resent it, keep it to yourself. all governments are murderers & liars, go ahead, prove me wrong (try).
