I do not believe it to be evil, but I`m sure some people would say that it is.

Very often, yes.
Hip-hop has the following characteristics:
* Degrades women (presents them as sex objects and calls them "ho" constantly)
* Promotes violence and use of weapons
* Trivializes sex, encouraging kids to have sex
* Promotes infidelity
* Glorifies gangsta culture and mentality
I wish someone would censor it during daytime hours. It is not suitable for kids to listen to.
Adults can listen to it at night, same as all R-rated material.

HIP HOP IS NOT EVIL, JUST LIKE ANY OTHER GENRES IT HAS ITS GOOD AND BAD. HIP HOP DOES DEGRATE WOMEN, AND TALKS ABOUT SEX, AND TO SOME PROMOTES VIOLENCE. HIP HOP ALSO TALKS ABOUT HE STRUGGLES AND TRIMUPHS OF THE CULTURE LIKE OLD SCHOOL RAP USE TO TALK ABOUT.
