A friend of mine got her Lasik operation at the American Eye Center here in Manila (Mandaluyong City). Pretty cheap too, she had it for just about Php P70,000.. And her lens grade used to be 600... she's down to 20-20 vision now. It's fabulous!

Prices vary from $500 per eye to $1500 per eye. This is not a situation where you want to "go cheap". It doesn't hurt. I have an opthalmologist who is near sighted and wears glasses. The procedure isn't perfect and doesn't work for everyone. Also, mistakes can be made. I think that you should avoid any type of surgery that you don't really need. I know a couple of people who were so blind without glasses that they were worried that they could take care of themselves or protect themselves if something happened to the glasses - or in an emergency situation. In that case, I think it was worth the risk. Most Drs. will only do one eye at a time - but if they say they're going to do both at once, get the heck out of there.

I don't know of a place in Manila but there is an execellant Lasik surgery program at Our Lady of Mercy Hospital in Bacolod City on the island of ****** in the Visayas. It's only a 50 min flight direct from Manila.

063-434-1031 to 1034.
I know a few people that have been treated there and the Hospital is clean modern and has the latest equipment. Contact them for cost info.

The Asian Eye Institute at Rockwell Makati City is the best in the Philippines, and Asia. The doctors are fully-trained at the best medical schools in the US, equipment and service are first-class.
But. Yeah, there is a but. And it will involve common sense. If and when you try to visit Lasik clinics in the Philippines, look around you first. Are there employees and doctors wearing glasses? If yes, think twice,no,no,no think a million times before deciding on the procedure.

Just a logical answer here, I know the surgery would be much cheaper there but in the short time you are there, do you think it's wise to be messing with your eyes? I'd just wear my glasses as needed, leave the surgery for my return here.

hi,
the asian eye institute (www.asianeyeinstitute.com) is the philippines', and probably asia's, foremost eyecare center. they are located in makati's upscale rockwell area. i'm quite sure they will have the treatment you're looking for at a reasonable price. please do visit their website.
