Suze Orman /ˈsu.zi ˈɔɹ.mən/ (born Susan Orman) (June 5, 1951) in Chicago, Illinois to Russian Jewish immigrants) is a financial advisor.
It has been reported in Forbes magazine that she has misrepresented her credentials and background.
She has a BA in social work from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Her books include The Laws of Money, The Lessons of Life, The Road to Wealth, The Courage to Be Rich, The 9 Steps to Financial Freedom, and The Money Book for the Young Fabulous and Broke. She also hosts a weekend financial planning show for the CNBC cable television network called The Suze Orman Show. She has won an Emmy award for her work on this show. Her catch phrases are "Self-worth equals net worth," "People first, then money, then things," and "Truth creates money. Lies destroy it."
Orman hosts another TV program on QVC called Suze Orman's Financial Freedom.
