Tha answer is actually very complicated, though one can say that the main reason for the support is money. The richer the lobbyists in the US the stronger the support. It's nothing new, look at the embargo against Cuba, why is it stillon when so many people in the US think it's useless, well, it's because the exiled Cubans in Florida are very rich and have a very strong lobby presecence.
Here we are not facing a question of right or wrong, a questions of terrorists or not, it is much more complicated than that.
Both sides (Israel and Palestine) are right and both are wrong. The countries around it are not all terrorists, they are just countries with their own internal problems.
Suicide bombers? They are religious fanatics that believe in a promise of heaven for having done something for their faith. We have seen that in history before, or have people forgotten the crusades. There were groups of men, usually poor and uneducated, who would sacrifice themselves for their religious believes. They killed many arabs at that time to liberate the "holy land." If they had had bombs they would have used them, many went into suicidal missionsafter being blessed by priests and would die believeing that they were on a highway to heaven. Does sound familiar doesn't it.
Also causing destruction for a political purpose is something Americans did in the past against the British. They ambushed and killed them even though there was no war declared. The fight was for independence so no war had been officially declared. But, isn't independence a drastic destruction of the status quo? Technically speaking Americans were terrorists destroying the empire's stronghold.
Many would squirm at that and say, that was not the point, we were fighting for freedom. Yes, could be, but isn't that what the Palestinians are claiming now, and the Hamas, Hezbollah and the others.
We have to stop seeing the world as white or black. There are many powers at play here which we do not know about. I neither agree nor disagree with Israel's actions. I find them excessive, yes but I do not have enough information to really reach a conclusion. What I do know is that I do not like the loss of life regardless but that is something that has always existed in human history, this drive to kill to succeed. Can we stop it? I surely do not know. If interdependency is reached to a level where both Palestinians and Israeli's depend on each other then yes all this would stop but I do not see that happening in 100 years.

Israel is the only democracy in the Middle East and the only ally of the US in the region. They are surrounded on all sides by terrorists, the same terrorists that bombed the World Trade Center, Britain, India and other countries.
Israel gave up large tracts of land and bulldozed their own settlements to give the Palestinians their own country. However, this did not satisfy the terrorists. Time and time again they have sent suicide bombers and missiles to kill innocent civilians. Israel even built a wall to try to keep terrorists out, but the raids kept coming and they were on constant terror alert. Now Hamas and Hezbollah from their headquarters in Lebanon, have kidnapped Isaeli soldiers. They have held Lebanon hostage for years. Israel has had enough. They are now doing what the US should be doing - destroying the headquarters of the terrorists. Why would you not support their efforts to rid the area of terrorists?

Because Israel Supports Peace. There is a breaking point where Israel has stopped being taken advantage of. It's the Arabs vs. Jews, and the way I see it, as probably the rest of the world does, is that Israel is kickin some @ss. I can only hope that once we get our civilians out of Lebonon, then maybe we(USA) can join in and help Israel along with thier goal of Peace.

via fact Israel is a US best chum. via fact the U. S. is status up for the certainty. the certainty is that Palestine isn't something yet a Jordanian land-grab disguised as a phony nationalist circulate. it relatively is in accordance to the PLO's very own management: "The Palestinian human beings does not exist. The creation of a Palestinian state is barely a capacity for persevering with our warfare against the state of Israel for our Arab unity. actually in the present day there is not any difference between Jordanians, Palestinians, Syrians and Lebanese. in straightforward terms for political and tactical motives do we communicate in the present day concerning to the life of a Palestinian human beings, considering Arab nationwide pastimes call for that we posit the life of a distinctive 'Palestinian human beings' to oppose Zionism... For tactical motives, Jordan, it is a sovereign state with defined borders, can not improve claims to Haifa and Jaffa. on an identical time as as a Palestinian, i will actually call for Haifa, Jaffa, Beer-Sheva and Jerusalem. even nonetheless, the 2d we reclaim our precise to all of Palestine, we can't wait even a minute to unite Palestine and Jordan." - Zahir Muhsein, PLO govt committee member, in a March 31, 1977 interview with the Dutch newspaper Trouw. And this from different Arabs: "Who can challenge the rights of the Jews in Palestine? solid Lord, traditionally that's your u . s .." -Yusuf Diya al-Khalidi, Mayor of Jerusalem, writing in 1899. "We Arabs, extraordinarily the knowledgeable between us, seem with private sympathy on the Zionist circulate. we are able to choose the Jews a hearty welcome abode." - Emir Faisal, King of Syria and Iraq, in 1919. "there is not any such factor as Palestine in history, actually no longer". - Philip ok. Hitti, an Arab professor at Princeton college, in testimony to the 1946 Anglo-American Committee of Inquiry. If idiots stop helping a phony human beings protesting a phony occupation to create a phony u . s . they plan on turning in to Jordan and actually demanded an end to this Palestinian statehood nonsense, there'd be no choose for Israel to be struggling with for its land and life.

Common denominator? judeo christian foundations? who knows. what is sure is that dubya decides to attack iraq for a "violation" of a recent UN resolution, but no one attacks israel for another famous resolution condemning the occupation. everyone turns a blind eye to that and then wonders why palestine needs to resort to guerilla tactics to defend themselves (hamas, hezbola and plo)
