Do you preffer a female or a male doctor?

Why Pirate_Wench you don't like women doctors? I am curious. I preffer getting checked by a woman but unfortunally I ended up setting an appointment with a male doctor.

I don't enjoy it and I prefer female doctors. My gyno is a down to earth no nonsense kind of person and I like her a lot. I think females are more straight forward and to the point and they also have a better bedside manner most of the time. Especially when it comes to female issues.

I read the answer by the one girl whose doctor didn't believe she was a virgin and thought she had herpes. I had a similar experience with a male doctor. I forgot what I even went in for but he thought I was pregnant and didn't believe that I never had sex. I felt like crying at that time, I was pretty young. So it's not male or female doctors that act that way. It's just the way some people are. I just like female doctors because I feel like they can relate to me better. And I will never have a male doctor that I think is attractive. Ever, because that's just too much for me, too embarrassing to be sitting there thinking about how hot he is while examining me!!!

When I was 21 I had probs and had to see the gyn. I got sent to 6 different doctors. 4 males, 2 females. I was embarrassed. I hadn't had sex then. My PCP was male when I got pregnant. He did my exams. I was a bit embarrassed. While giving birth there were so many different people coming in and out of the room, checking on progress, that after delivery I didn't care anymore. Since then I have had 2 male gyns and 2 female gyns. It doesn't matter anymore. It isn't like you are there on a date with them or anything...LOL!!!! I go in, get checked, and go on with my life.

I don't enjoy it, but it is one of those "necessary evils" in a woman's life.

I have seen a female gynecologist and I prefer male doctors. This is why: I once went in when I was 19 for some severe itching in that area. Without doing a culture, the female gyn told me that I had herpes. I was told her that I had never had sex so how could that be? It was obvious that she didn't believe me. I asked to her to PLEASE exam me (find that my hymen was intact) and to please culture it. She refused and just gave me a prescription for Zovirax. Two weeks later I went back and saw a male gyn because it didn't get better. He cultured it and and it was negative for herpes. I just had a severe yeast infection and he gave me Monostat (before it was OTC). I will NOT go back to a female gyn. She made me feel dirty and was convinced I was a slut.

Why do you even ask this question?

Do you really think anyone trully 'enjoys' going to the gynecologist???? Do you??

I prefer a male doctor for this.

I like my gynecologist very much and I enjoy seeing him but NOT the pelvic exam!

My gyno is a male, because I am totally against female doctors. I don't particularly enjoy going, but I don't complain about it either.

I wouldn't exactly call it "enjoyable" per se, just a necessity we women have to do from time to time. Female definately.
