I only wear it when I'm going out. I did wear it everyday when I was in college. Try lightweight foundations that won't feel heavy on your skin, so you won't feel it's there even if you're wearing it the whole day. I like Maybelline's Mousse foundation, it's so light - don't use liquid foundations, they feel heavier.
Also it depends on your skin type. If you have awesome skin, then you probably won't need foundation at all, just a blush and some eyecolor and lip gloss, maybe even mascara and you will look great. Sometimes less makeup is more.
Stay pretty!

Mostly all your answers sound great I must admit these ladies gave you good advice.
If you need to wear it to get a nicer smother skin then make sure you buy the right skin tone for you and please buy quality. Quality will make it look invisible, you will show healthy skin plus that it lasts longer and prevents aging better than the cheap ones. I should also mention that if you have nice healthy and even skin you only need a face pouder to help with the oily skin and fresh look but the less makeup the better. If instead of using the liquid eye liner you use the pencil it is better aswell. I recomend for everyday use your face pouder (also carry withyou), eyeliner, mascara and a nice pink juicy lip gloss for everyday use. Now and then you can wear eyeshadow just to create a different look. Don't go to heavy but light and natural looks nicer for every day use. Try it and if it makes you feel beautifull and young go ahead while if with the foundation you feel better then appply as you wish.

It is totally up to you, but I find girls are prettier and look more "finished" and grown up when they were foundation. There are a TINY majority that don't need it, but even if you have great skin it can look blotchy or red sometimes. Foundation (used in moderation!!!) is a great help in evening your overall face color. You don't need much just a tiny dab about the size of a quarter or smaller and that should cover a multitude of sins!
I wear foundation and full makeup everyday, unless I go swimming and then I take it all off. It's bothersome to have mascara running down your cheeks, and the waterproof stuff hurts like heck to get it off. Otherwise, makeup makes you look good.... :)

Not anymore. I weaned myself off it years ago. My feeling is that if guys don't wear it, why should I have to? Is having a perfect skin tone really that important? Hell no!
Granted I don't have horrible skin. I do have a little darkness under my eyes, freckles and the occasional breakout. But so what. Anyway, I have very oily skin, and it ended up disappearing in a few hours anyway.
What I do now is either use a primer/mattifier (like Estee Lauder's Idealist or Monistat's Chafing Relief Powder Gel), or if it's a really bad day, a dab of green concealer and translucent powder.
The primers reduce redness and make your skin appear matte. It's almost as good as foundation!

The best foundation by far that I have tried is "Covergirl Clean Make-Up Oil Control." This make-up is one-of-a-kind because it helps control combination to oily skin and give skin a fresh,shine-free look that is very sexy and beautiful. A great tip after putting on foundation if you have combination or oily skin is to get a powder (I use "Covergirl Professional Loose Powder") and use it sparingly over the areas that are "oily." (Combination: The "T-Zone area...forehead,nose and chin. Oily: All-Over your face.) This is a great foundation powder that I am so in love with! I reccomend this product to anyone that has combination or oily skin! (Plus this foundation erases all flaws and imperections and evens your skin tone out for a gorgeous complexion. The powder gives you a fabulous soft and smooth gorgeous look to you skin! How chic!)

When I do wear foundation I always make sure it is a light water based one, that keeps it light and natural. I dust over with a loose powder.
If you keep it light enough then on the days you don't feel like wearing any you wont have to.

As an older woman (41), I say do whatever makes you feel the best! You shouldn't worry about "what everyone else is doing" but simply do what's right for you! You'll have a great time, and I wish you luck!! (My son is a college freshman this fall - I can relate!)

I do and I use a foundation with an spf 15. mainly just to protect my skin. I would use a foundation because it will protect your skin from all the elements of weather.

Nearly every day. I try and let my skin have a day off to 'breathe' about once a week.
I'm a big fan of the mineral foundations, like Bare Escentuals.
