I have single eyelids, but my eyes are medium round-sized (not the stereotypical slanted eyes). I need some tips on how to make my eyes look more flattering because I have senior pictures for my high school today. Also, i have chubby-ish cheeks so when i smile my eyes become even smaller. Any ideas?

*Asian Makeup - Soft Apricots*

Quick Tip

If you have a little time to play with colors, I would suggest this palette. With your coloring, these shades should look great.
Eye Shadow: Soft to a medium apricot on outer edge of eyelid. Wrap around below eye.

Eye Liner: Narrow line of forest green from corner to corner.

Mascara: Two coats of black

Blush: Medium to deep apricot on cheeks.

Lips: Red orange lipstick.

Notes: As the lips are going to the focal point of this face, the eyes should be soft but with enough color to be noticeable.

*Brown Eyes - Asian*

Brows: Touch up if necessary. Fill in bare spots with shadow or pencil. Be sure to brush brows to soften color.

Highlighter: (optional) Lid Shadow: Brush neutral shade of brown over eye area. Add a layer of lavender shadow over the brown.

Crease: A little of the lavender that was used on the lid should be worked into the crease.

Liner: Brown/Gray smudged into lashes. (Pencils are the easiest to use, but shadows can be used as well.)

Mascara: Black (Brown eyes seem to need deep lush colors.)

**Take a little eye makeup remover and smudge the shadows for a softer look.

*Asian Makeup - Sky Blue and Chocolate*

Quick Tip

Do you have these shades in your collection? They just might become your favorite combination.
Eye Shadow: Begin with skyblue shadow and follow the lash line using a thin border of color. Above the line of shadow is a second but gradually widening line of soft milk chocolate shadow to push up the brow bone.

Eye Liner: Narrow line of navy/black from corner to corner.

Mascara: Two coats of black on top and bottom lashes. Be careful that you do not smudge the lower lashes.

Blush: A soft brown/peach color on cheeks to define, and be sure to blend well.

Lips: A pinky brown color is used to stain the lips. To make the top lip look fuller, a brown pencil follows the "M" of the top lip. Once it is blended into the lipstick, the pencil line will disappear, but a fuller look is achieved.

Notes: While the eyes and lips are not supposed to compete with each other, or so the rule states, this look has two focal points, but neither seems to draw attention away from the other.

*Soft Peaches and Pale Green

Eye Shadow: Begin with a soft peach in the corner. Extend to halfway on lid. Pick up a small amount of pale green and work a little into the peach and then continue across to outer edge of eye. Wrap the pale green around and below eye.

Eye Liner: Narrow line of forest green/brown from corner to corner.

Mascara: Two coats of black

Blush: Pale apricot on cheeks to define, but for this look, it is almost invisible... the lightest touch is all you will need.

Lips: soft, soft apricot on lips. A dot of a deeper peach will be then blended onto the center of the bottom lip to give a slightly pouty look.

Notes: the eyes are the focal point of this look, but nothing is strong. This face is soft and innocent even though we are using a lot of green with this look.

*How to Make Eyes Appear Bigger*

makeup does the trick!

Steps
Apply a light eye shadow to the crease.
Curl eyelashes.
Put 2 coats of thickening mascara on top lashes only.
Use black eyes liner in the corner of the eye and top (if you have a steady hand).

Tips
White pencil on the inner part of the eyelid will help make eyes appear bigger. Don't do it if you have shaky hands though...
If your eyes are normal-sized, and close to almond-shaped, apply mascara all the way round. This looks really dramatic, and is a real eye-opener.
If you want to add dimension to your eyes, add a slightly darker color above the crease.
If you also want to make your eyes appear wider, make your eyeliner thicker towards the edged of your eyes.
Put mascara especially on the lashes near to outer corner of your eye: these are the ones that need extra lift, and make a huge difference in eye appearance.

Warnings
Be careful! Do not use dark eyeliner on the bottom lid, this only makes eyes smaller! Many makeup experts use white eyeliner - it works!

Try using an eyeliner just in the outer corner of the the eye.
Do it like a V, and don't go it too far. Use something like a soft black pencil.
For eyeshadow try a darker color from the outside of eye only going in a little less than half way, do this only half way across your lid this will give the impression of a defined lid.
Then fill the rest of the lower part of the lid in with a lighter color like a gold. Then under your brow use a completely different color but not too light, try maybe another shade of gold.
Curl your lashes and use a black mascara.
For your cheeks just highlight the top of the cheekbones this will make them appear slim, and don't come too far down with the blush. Then beautiful pictures :)

Apply a white line around your eyes and then a black line on the exterior of the white line. This way, your eyes will look bigger.
