I am sure glad I don't believe in superstitions.. Otherwise I still have another 50-odd years of bad luck for all those broken mirrors...

I would have to say the whole 'bless you' thing you say when someone sneezes. It is based on the superstition that when you sneeze it is your soul trying to escape. When someone says 'bless you' it supposedly keeps you soul from escaping.

That you are going to lose your soul when you sneeze. This is evidenced by the fact that nearly everyone the world over says some sort of "Bless you" to a person that sneezes. This "Bless you" keeps the soul from leaving the body.
