i like the west indies but they haven't pulled themselves out of their mid '90s slump that coincided with the retirement of ambrose and walsh and the form slump of lara. west indies have no confidence and will have to really play hard to even reach the semi's. the semi's should be india/australia/pakistan and then the fourth spot will be a toss up between sri lanka/england and new zealand. sri lanka has been spotty lately and england new zealand have made great strides but the jury is still out as to whether they are real contenders or not.

I don't think so. when India played against WI, we were a formidable side without sachin. besides, they were only able to beat India bcoz of the pitches. there are so many better world class teams playing in the world cup, aus, south Africa, sri lanka. i don't think they stand a chance, and the Indians are sore after their defeat and by now they are used to the west Indian pitches.

West Indies have the potential to win the games. If ganga, gayle, chanderpaul, lara and Shivnarain fire in all cylinders, they could be a formidable force. Bravo ! Bravo!!
Bowling is little weak. If they lose the cup, it would be becuase of bowling alone.
