Do nothing. My house is haunted also, by an elderly couple and a little boy. It can be frightening at times, but they CAN'T harm you.I've lived here for the past ten years and they are a part of our lives now.Occasionally we see them, and sometimes things move, but that's about it. Periodically we'll hear the little boy running through the rooms. They exist in a plane that is just out of our reach, and they see us as the ghosts. At least that's what I believe.
If I were you, I would try to enjoy their visits and not be alarmed by them. Ours have become like a part of the family, and my kids and I would miss them if they were to leave. You may end up being glad that you have played host to a....dare I say it?.....ghost.

You can ask for a "Blessing" from a Catholic priest from your local church.
My house in Italy had a ghost, I was frightened at first but after I relaxed a bit and just started enjoying my home, life became better. I tried several times to catch "him" but never was successful. Eventually I'd always get an urge to giggle and wasn't afraid when I heard "him" walking in the attic or downstairs playing with the doors. It became a conversation opener.

If your house is on a hillside, I would consult with a structural engineer. The building may be on unstable ground and slowly sliding down the hill. I am not kidding here, I lived in a house on top of the Berkeley hills and it creaked and groaned every night and eventually the owner had to rebuild the foundation because the soil it was built on was sliding down the hill.

here is what you do. you pray every night before you go to sleep and pray the minute you leave for work and then have a minister or pastor come and pray over your house and pray all the bad spirits out of the house and you should be fine after that.

Pour salt around the permimeter of your house. Light a candle and tell them to go to the light. Tell them that they are dead.
They think they are alive and that you are intruding on their space. When they were alive they probably lived on or near the grounds that your house sits on.

Theres a good possibility. you should try burning incense sticks and producing good energy through positive thoughts. next time you hear the sounds, turn up your favorite radio station. this lets them know you aren't afraid.

The weather can affect homes. The woodwork expands and contracts. This can sound like people walking.
