Ok u know the lizard thats face poofs up like a crown around his head and he stands up and runs across the water.. and does anyone know if these are able to be pets???

i don't know much about the basiliscus lizard. however a frilled lizard also runs on two feet (but cannot run across water) an has a frilled neck that is displayed when feeling threatened (like the dilophosaurus in jurassic park if you remember that). They are available as pets and I did own one at a time in the past. If you are considering it as a pet, consider th fact that you will need a fairly large (and tall) enclourse because they enjoy climbing. In addition, they are not the most people-oriented lizards. As was mentioned earlier, they do not enjoy being handled very much, however they rarely bite.

The basilisk or Jesus Christ lizard escapes from enemies by running across the water. It runs so fast on its long, fringed back toes that it doesn't have time to sink. The lizard lives by rivers in South American forests.
A frilled lizard, if cornered will face its attacker, with mouth wide open, and fans out the huge frill of skin around its neck. It sways from side to side while hissing. It looks menacing, but it's a fairly harmless lizard.
Frilled lizards can be bought at most pet stores, but they are extremely fast and don't care to be handled.

The lizard is known as the basilisk lizard or the Jesus lizard, and most are unavailable at pet stores. You may be able to special order them on line however.

The basilisk lizard runs on water but doesnt have the "crown" around its neck.
The frilled lizard has it and he runs on his hind legs. Not necessarily on water but ive seen them run on land like that.

i think it is the basilisk lizard, but i dont know if the lizard in the jurassic park 1 do really exist....

they don;t make good pets... first of all whoever sells you one is breaking the law in Canada or US.
Having one is really cruel... they need lots of room and they can bring harmful bacteria into your home
