Depend on how you see it..really..cos in every event, there is a good as well as bad..
Which are good? example: when british occupy India..they might have build a new infrastructure, hence leaving a heritage of invaluable assets in India.
Which are bad?
English might have imported their bad ideology and or maybe totured local people. In a way that the local culture and traditional values may be lost.
half empty or half full..it's how you see it.

it was a curse, they pretty much enslaved the indian people and treated them like crap. if you watch the movie gandhi, you'll understand why he did what he did. the british were oppressers not saviours
