If you took your car in for Transmission problem and they said the transmission needed to be replaced for 1200$, but then later found out the transmission didin't actually have a problem it was the computer chip that controls the transmission
shouldn't the price be less then the original quote?

Absolutely !!!!! but sounds like they already put the new one in and the only way to recover the money would be to take them to court. they misdiagnosed the problem, or were inexperienced in that field. Why should you have to pay for their mistakes.??

no not exactly. you need to look at how long it takes to replace it and how much time of laybor. laybor here in florida is about $65 an hour
