camoranesi is argentinian...i know that if you become the citizen of another country, you can officially play for their national team (which is why he plays in italy).
but whats his deal with argentina?? is there some kind of beef (pun intended!) between him and his native country?? is there a specific reason why he decided to play for italy instead??

He had no chance to make it at our national team. He was never called to selection matches so he made himself italian and he got lucky there....
That happens much more in rugby where is much possible that a player who has no chance to play for Los Pumas has serious possibilities at the Italian team because of their lower amount of good players..... thay have about 4 Argies at their national team by now I think.

He's been living and playing in Italy forever, that's the reason he became a citizen and played for Italy in this world cup. If you saw the final game, after they cut his hair, he walked up to the camera and said "esto es para todos los pibes del barrio". He's still argentinian and he wanted to share that moment with the argentinians.

Yes there is, you see they gave him the opportunity to play for italy but he wanted to play for argentina and in order to play for argentina he had to wait a long time so he decided to play for italy.

Hi Lola, well Camoranesi is of Italian origin (both his parents are Italian) so therefore he probably chose Italy because of a more lucrative deal.....all about the dinero my firend!!!

Perhaps he wanted to WIN! Pekerman certainly couldn't get it done. That guy rivaled Ericsson for the dumbest coach in the Cup, pulling Riquelme with 30 minutes left and trying to play defense to win..one of the dumbest things I have ever seen in 36 years of fandom. Bring back EL LOCO!!!!!!!!!!!

It depends where he is living and spending more time..........just like Deco from Portugal he really is from Brazil but played for Portugal, that is the country where he is now living.
